In a land where people have known nothing but war, a tightly knit and fiercely proud people, the Nasa, fight for the land stolen from their ancestors while fending off the violence encroaching on their nation. Their charismatic leader is 39-year old Lucho Acosta, an imposing tactician descended from Indian warriors. He knows from experience that violence only breeds more violence. But facing nearly insurmountable odds, Lucho’s beliefs are tested to their very core. The future of the Nasa hang in the balance.

Margarita Martínez is a Colombian journalist and documentary filmmaker. She co-directed the documentary La sierra, winner of many international awards, and La batalla del silencio, a film about impunity in murders of journalists in Latin America. She is a lawyer with a Master in Journalism and International Relations from the Columbia University. She began her career at NBC in New York and covered the Colombian conflict from 1999 to 2006 for the Associated Press in Bogota.
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Miguel Salazar has a Master in Film Production and Direction from NYU. He directed the short film Martillo, awarded with the prize for best short film at the Kiev International Film Festival and at the Cartagena Film Festival. He co-directed the short documentary La batalla del silencio for the Inter American Press Association, a film that deals with impunity in crimes committed against journalists. He is currently directing the documentary Buscando a Colombia.
