The previous editions of Ambulante proved that there is a true interest on behalf of the population to learn more about documentaries. The variety of reactions that we witnessed from audiences across the country motivates us to take a more active role in promoting the production and distribution of documentaries. We believe that it is exteremly important to contribute to and support the training of young producers and directors through workshops and lectures that explore the theoretical and practical aspects of documentary filmmaking. We hope that throughout the years, we will be able to generate opportunities for dialogue and reflection, and give voice to projects that examine the issues at hand, eventually leading us towards a more open society, and a more tightly knit cinematographic community.
This year, Ambulante will carry out an intensive workshop in collaboration with IMCINE (Mexican Institute of Cinematography) open to documentary filmmakers and film students interested in understanding the development process of documentary filmmaking. The workshop will take place in Mexico City, Morelia, Guadalajara, and Oaxaca, and will be led by Carlos Taibo. One of Ambulante’s guest filmmakers will also be invited to share his or her personal experience with all the workshop participants.
Ambulante and the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE) reach out to all those interested in documentary film: documentary filmmakers, film, and media students, to participate in the Ambulante/IMCINE Workshop on the development of documentary projects, which will take place in Mexico City, Morelia ,Oaxaca and Guadalajara.
